English Language test procedure and credits
To prepare for the foreign language exams students may choose to follow any of the various courses offered by the language instructors.

RECOGNITION OF CERTIFICATES B1
From the academic year 2020/2021 the certifications recognized by the Faculty, corresponding to a Level B1 of the CEFR, are as follows:
- Cambridge ESOL B1/ PET (or above, i.e. First, Advanced, Proficiency certificates)
- IELTS 4.5 (or above)
- TOEFL paper based 450 (or above), computer based 133 (or above) or internet based 45 (or above)
- Trinity ISE ESOL level 1 (or above)
RECOGNITION OF CERTIFICATES B2
- Cambridge ESOL B2/First (or above9
- IELTS level 6 (or above9
-TOEFL internet based 72 (or above) paper based 513 (or above) or computer based 183 (or above)
- Trinity ISE ESOL level l 2 (or above)
NB: "Trinity Grades Exams in Spoken English" (GESE) certificates are not valid.
The recognition of the certificates can take place by submitting an application to the Area Council of the course of study and only if they have been obtained during the enrollment period or, at most, in the two years prior to enrollment at the University.
The instructors and lecturers are not authorized to verbalize the recognition, so students intending to have one of the above certificates recognized are asked not to book the exam dates and not to deliver the certificate to the teacher or the language instructor, but to follow the procedures indicated by the individual Board of studies.
