Online exams instructions

Dear student,
in Sapienza website, on the the Coronavirus emergency page,  you can find the Rector's Decree and instructions for written exams. For your convenience, I attach them to this email.
The indications apply, for the time being,  to the extraordinary session which has been extended until 15 May and which is reserved for fuori corso” students, who have not completed the exams within set time period, certified SLD students and other limited categories. If you were regularly booked, your teacher will shortly schedule again the remote examination session on the Infostud website. Some professors may open again the exam booking period to compensate stops due to the suspension made in April and allow the rescheduling of the exam dates, but they are not obliged  to do it.
The new schedule will be checked by the Presidents of Board of Studies to try to avoid, as far as possible,  possible overlapping, with particular regard to graduating students who have exceptionally been allowed to submit the application despite 2 missing exams.
In addition to the availability of PCs and smartphones foreseen by the Rectoral Decree, engineering students are suggested to adopt some simple precautions:
a) large tip pens or markers if you have to write by hand, so that it is easy to read the sheets photographed by your smartphone;
b) a structure to keep the smartphone high on the sheet while writing (mainly useful for oral exams where you have to write) - see the attached photo or tutorial at the following link: https://youtu.be/j-WdVzYMii8;
c) if available, connect graphics tablets to the PC, or use tablets, I-Pads, and other tools on which it is easy to draw or write formulas by hand;
d) become familiar with software and systems for writing symbols and formulas such as LYX, LATEX and similar, or with the equation editors of microsoft packages (MathType or other).
It is good to ask the teacher what additional facilities are suitable for every sort of test and, above all, to make preventive tests of the required operations during the exam (writing, framing yourself, framing the sheet, framing the room, photographing and sending the test, evaluating their quality and resolution, etc.).

The Commission is the sole arbiter on particular cases of impossibility of a double connection with PC and smartphone. If you really can't reach the minimum level of hardware required by the Commission for the whole expected time, you will not be able to take the written exam, but the Commission, at its sole discretion, could propose you to do an oral exam concentrated in the technically most favorable period. Otherwise, it will be necessary to wait for the new Government Decrees for Phase 2 of the emergency and to evaluate the possibilities that may open up.
