Maker Faire Rome 2022

Dear student of the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering,
the aim of this email is to make you aware of the opportunity to participate in the Rome Maker Faire, an event that has come to its X edition and which will take place at the Gazometro Ostiense from October 7th - 9th, 2022.

The areas of interest range from Electronics to Sustainability, from ICT to Design and Post-industrial design, from Cultural heritage to the definition of Innovative business models, including highly topical issues such as the creation of online communities, social innovation, circular and collaborative economy and all those innovations characterized by open-source mode and co-creation processes for the development of new technologies, new products and services.

The projects deemed most deserving, most innovative, most likely to give birth to new youth entrepreneurship will be rewarded.

If you have a brilliant idea in mind to solve any problem, you have created objects, devices or software that can take a step forward in technologies, an original invention, from small to large ones, you can submit a written presentation or even make a demonstration on stage, a performance or other.

We will host you in our stand.

Universities and Public Research Institutes, whose projects will be selected, will have a space within #MFR2022 and will be able to:

  • exhibit a project: a space will be provided to allow the use of what is exposed to visitors and curious;
  • carry out interventions (presentations to the public): a physical and / or virtual space will be provided where can be made presentations on topics related to the themes proposed by the Event, tell experience and make demonstrations of practical activities (workshops).
  • performance: a physical and / or virtual space or a physical and / or virtual stage will be provided to allow to perform creative, technological, robotics or musical performances. The performances can also take place in webinars, in order to facilitate the use and dissemination among the public even remotely.

In the selection of projects to be submitted, the following criteria will be used:

  • the Participant(s) must submit a working prototype;
  • the project must meet the requirements of creativity and originality;
  • priority will be given to projects that actively involve visitors and that show, in addition to the result, also the process of conception and implementation;
  • the project will also be selected on the basis of the level of novelty in relation to what may have already been exposed in previous editions of the Event.
