X-Ray Microscopy: an efficient and Non-Destructive Imaging Study of the Inner Workings of Batteries
Reaching a holistic understanding of inner workings of a battery means studying the device in its assembled state, natural physical and chemical environment while potentially performing its function. Within the iENTRANCE@ENL research project, Dr. Flavio Cognigni, Professor Mauro Pasquali, Dr. Francesca Anna Scaramuzzo and Professor Marco Rossi from ICI-SBAI, along with colleagues from C.R. ENEA Casaccia, demonstrate X-ray microscopy to play a pivotal role for early diagnosis of batteries degradation in a non-invasive way and to represent a driving tool for further correlative microscopy experiment.
